6. Definitions

PEP — A politically exposed person is entrusted with important public functions in T&T or a foreign country:

Head of State or Government, Judicial or Military Official
Senior Executive of a State-Owned Corporation (Chairman, Deputy Chairman, MD, GM, Comptroller, Secretary, Treasurer; Ambassador/Attaché/Counsellor)
Senior Government Official — Permanent Secretary, Accounting Officer under Exchequer and Audit Act, or equivalent
Senior Politician — elected to national/local/Tobago House of Assembly; appointed Senator; appointed to Tobago House of Assembly; selected Alderman under Municipal Corporations Act
Important Political Party Official — Chairman, Deputy Chairman, Secretary or Treasurer registered under Representation of the People Act, or equivalent
Immediate family member of persons in 1–5 (spouse, parent, siblings, children, children of spouse)
Close personal or professional associate of persons in 1–5
